    Re: oil leak

What have you recently done with the engine before this happened? Have you been in to the cam chest/oil pump/breather?...

    Re: oil leak

Okay, from the bike sitting so long, it may have had oil leak down through the check valve in the pump and over fill the crank case, causing pressure build-up Check the oil tank now for over fill, as the excess oil will end up back in the tank. Drain, and refill the tank to proper level, and idle the engine. Let it leak, stuff some rags around the push rods to catch the oil. If this is the problem, it should clear itself up. You may have to drain some more excess oil from the tank again...

    Re: oil leak

Wow, that's a long time. Those old Ironheads are a very strong engine. Keep clean oil in anything, and it will go the distance. Let us know how yer do'n...

PS: the oil level in the tank must not be higher than the return near the top of the tank...
