OIL Pressure sensor fitting on a 99 Dyna ?

Having a very difficult time in removing the OIL PRESSURE sensor , to install an OIL PRESSURE GauGE kit..  Cant get a wrench on the fitting OR use channel Locks .... any ideas ??? OR Is there ANY other point where I can install  a fitting to run an Oil Pressure Gauge   ??? gonna let some penetrating oil soak in and try again with channel lock Pliers ...

got it off and installed the JP Cycles Oil Pressure guage...  worked for about 10 minutes... then right back down to zero AGAIN... guess i will buy a better gauge...  hopefully i can find a gauge that will fit the JP mounting bracket...  i broke the sensor for the light taking it off, so until i can recieve another sensor.. i have NO Idea what the OP is...

Tom - the guage you are using, is it an electronic guage driven by an electronic sensor or a "wet" guage driven by an oil line?

If it is a wet guage, what procedure have you used to bleed the line?

(just thinking of what might be the problem)

The first tool out of the box should be the "book"  Geeked

Re: OIL Pressure sensor fitting on a 99 Dyna ?

Its a wet gauge... however, i took the bike out for abit of a ride.. and the gauge is workin..... so i am going to ride it out and see what develops...

I have installed at least a dozen gauges over the years on various Harleys.. and have never ' bled ' the line... the gauge seems to be reading abit on the high side about 7 - 12 lbs..  how would one 'bleed' the line .. never had to do that before, but , i guess there is always a first time ...

    thanks for the input..

Just to follow up with a bit more info on the gauge...  speaking of " bleeding " .. the only thing that ' bled ' was the clear oily stuff in the gauge , when the little black plug worked its way loose and made a complete mess all over everrything ..  i took a bit of silicone and recovered the whole..  not much liquid left in the gauge.. but it still works... ( reads a bit high )   next project is pedal in the rear brake ...
