slip on mufflers/and true dual header pipes

I have an 2006 Flhtpi electra glide-just bought my first Harley this Spring.Love It!!!!  would like to hear the Harley sound more clearly. I have been searching the webs and talking to friends in my   Bourbeuse Valley H.O.G. chapter  and others at rallies. I have been considering Vance &Hines big shot duals-v&h basic slip-ons and classic slip-ons with the option of adding dual pipes later.$$$$ I also am considering  Thunderheader slip-ons-Hooker header tuned flow slip-ons-Samson "Rolled Thunder"oval slant slip-ons. Iwant perormance with good harley sound quality-I want to hear them!!! I also talked to a Harley tech about Rush slip-ons and was  told as long as I did not change the header pipes I would not have to remap-I have a stock EFI system now.I know I have put a lot of info out but this to me is an important decision for my bike and dollar wise. Thanks for your help and input.Bob

It is really, really hard to choose an exhaust system based on what others tell you.  For example, some guys base their opinions on performance first.  Sound and looks are more important to others.  When you hear and see something you like just ask the rider about their setup.  As far as your fuel injection goes, switching to slip-ons is still going to change your air/fuel mixture so a new map may very well be in order.  For more info check out this tech article, Jetting and Fuel Injection Adjustment, Pipes.
