I was just cleaning my "early" (Pre-CV) Keihin carburetor and managed to break the overflow tube in the float bowl. Is there ANY WAY to fix this? I mean, can I just epoxy the overflow hole the tube was in if I swear I'll turn the petcock off every time I stop the engine? Sure, I'd LOVE to buy a whole new carb. You gonna loan me the cash? Them puppies ain't cheap!
Anyway, is there anywhere I can get either a "re-built" float bowl with the overflow tube intact or maybe even a new overflow tube to press in (assuming I can figure out how to get the stub of the original tube that's still in the hole out of there)??? Is there a way to remove what remains of the old tube and fabricate a new one of my own?
Does anyone out there have an old early-style Keihin float bowl laying around they'd be willing to sell me (so long as the overflow tube is still there....I PROMISE....I wil be MORE CAREFUL in the future!!)???
Remember: This is an EARLY (Pre-CV) Keihin carburetor.
This bike registers as a pre-'68 bike and isn't beholden to current emissions laws (it is NOT in California...THANK GOODNESS!)!!!
