    Running rich

1999 flhr, 88ci,  just purchased from private party in Sacramento elevation 69ft.  Brought bike home to Oregon elevation 1000ft. the bike is running really rich. Burn your eyes rich.  It has a thunder slide carb kit installed.  What are my problems and how do I fix them.

    Thanks,

    Jim

First you need to determine where the bike is running rich at. How does the bike respond at all throttle positions and rpm's? Once you determine where the rich condition is occuring then you will be able to change the jet, neddle position to lean the mixture out.

Did you pull the plugs to take a peek at what is going on inside?

    How's your mileage?
