    will not idle.

    i have a 2001 flhtc carburated. i have not rode the in bike in two months. now when i start it. it wont idle unless the choke is pulled out. even after its warm.

    If stabilizer wasn't used in the gas to store it, or the carb run dry, the gas in the float bowl may have decomposed and clogged the jets, and small passages.

    I would suggest dropping the float bowl and spraying carb cleaner into every orfice you can get to, especially the jets, and take a small wire (like a bristle from a wire brush), and pass it through each jet. Also replace the gas in the tank with fresh. If you see a bad situation in the carb, and spraying doesn't work, you'll have to take the carb off, and soak it in cleaner.

    If all is well in the carb, and problem persists, you may have a bad diaphram.

    Sounds like a clogged or dirty pilot circuit. Clean the carb and see if that helps.

     i think thats what it maybe. i gona clean the carbs and fush the tank. work out of town sometimes and cant ask the wife to start it or ride it.it wouldnt be there when i got back. thanks for the help.

    If ya know you're gonna be out of town for a while, throw some stabilizer in the tank, shut the petcock off, and run it out of gas. A battery tender would be good to throw on it too.

     ok thanks. the father inlaw got me one for christmas last year. never used it.always rode the bike pretty regular. but will keep that in mind. thanks
