    Hyd to solid kit

Got a '79E that just came out of 6 yr coma.  Thinking about solid kit that uses stock pushrods, any thoughts Swame?

You like adjusting valves, do you ??

I'm sure You have seen the kit that fit into the hydraulic lifter shell, easy & lo-cost. ..

    Why step backwards IMO ??

If you are not running a very radical cam, properly working (and properly adjusted) hydralics are clearly way to go (IMHO). Less maintanance and less noise. If your lifter units are wore out, I would consider making the change. Look at PN 431-552 $ 18.99 for use with the STOCK pushrods (these will not accept aftermarket pushrods). Expect more noise and a regular adjustment check.

Thanks for the info.  The idea was short term, to get rid of a variable, as any build info went to the grave with the past owner.  Cleaned the old hydraulic units and I'll see how it goes, as I can't swear that the pushrods are stock.         Thanks again,  Pat
