    umbrella valve

I have some residual fuel that I think is "misting/spraying" onto engine while I ride.  I asked a motorcycle mechanic about it and he said umbrella valve needs replacing.  What is he talking about and is it hard to do.  Please tell me the technical term for the part so I can look it up, and can see if My dad and I will be capable of doing it. 1999 Harley Sportster 1200C

The technical term is "Umbrella Valve". The center rocker spacer in the rocker boxes have 1 in each spacer. If you are technical enough to remove the 4 bolts that hold the rocker covers in place, you can do this job.

Xea, Thanks for the input.  I looked in the catalog for a replacement and couldnt find the umbrella valve.  Nor could I find it in my Clymer maintenance manual.  Can you be of any further assistance?
