Die-cast or steel stamped chrome tappet covers

I am looking at covering my tappet blocks with a chrome cover and I get the option of purchasing a Die-cast or stamped steel cover.   What is recommended?

The stamped steel is easier to install.. Don't have to open the push-rods tubes at all..

You can gently spread them open  just a bit & slip them around the push rod tubes & close gently, & add a bit of sillycone & seat em..

Next day or so,  wax well & enjoy..

Thank you for your quick response.   To clarify your comment.  the steel easy to install (first line of your comment)  The second line about spreading them a bit is that refering to the die-cast?

Is it all around ease of install or does one look better?

My entire post was about the steel ones.. (personally) I like the steel looks better also..

And have installed  many steel ones over the years.. The steel ones....

Its a matter of esthetics. Both are fairly easy to install. Some people like the Die cast look better, some, like Oldhdz4me, like the stamped steel appearance better.

I don't offer an opinion because I don't care for the appearance of either type. It's all personal preference and how you want your goodies to work (look).

I'll install whatever someone wants, but when I'm asked that's my reply..

Since I can install a set of stamped steel ones in 10 minutes. for .5 hr labor min.

Plus IMO they look more like real chromed blocks, till you get real close..
