    Handle bar Risers

I'm looking for some risers for my wife's '05 V-Star 650. Nothing to radical or fancy, just a couple of inches. I would prefer not to have to get new cables, if possible..............cost is an issue. Suggestions??

    Re: Handle bar Risers

not sure how the V-star risers hook on so I never responded (expected staff to answer, but it seems they are busy these days).

If the bolt on like a harley riser (Bolt up through the top tree into the riser) you might try unbolting the riser at the tree, having her sit on the bike and keep rising the height of the bars with everything still hooked up - find the height she wants it and test if everything still works (i.e. no cable blinding, etc.)

There are a number of ways to build a "jig" to help with with getting the bars up and still be solid enough to turn the wheel (i.e. 2 or 3 inch longer bolts and removable spacers such as small pieces of 2x4 )

    hope this helps

We can  set you up with a custom riser set, as long as the holes through the triple trees has a 1/2" diameter. In order to tell, you will need to remove your existng riser and measure the hole. If you are close to 1/2", it would not be hard to run a 1/2" drill trough the tree. That way a HD type rier can be used as long as you use a split top clamp like PN 5000874 $ 26.99. We have risers ti match this clame from 1 1/2" to 9". All with a 2" pullback.

Ok..........got the risers (4"), but it looks like I'll need a new front brake line. Is there a part number for one that is 4" over stock? Or will I have to make up my own???

You'll have to make one. You'll have to get the correct length of brake like along with the fittings that you'll need.

Well I able to get the risers on with out having to put on any new lines or cables. I did have to re-route the wiring and cables a bit, but it wasn't that bad. And most of all the wife is HAPPY!!!!
