Welcome to the forum, the questions your asking are answered in the tech articles, just click on the tab and scroll down, installing different pipes can mean you have to make changes to your fuel&air ratio if you have a carb(by the question i assume you have an efi scooter)which means you would have to remap if you have a power commander,or one of the other ones,( there was one disscussed here i just can't find the post,it was cheaper than a power commander and more user friendly)you just have to read and ask  to learn which way to go with what you want, and there is always choices and someone here to help!and you don't always have to do the add ons.

Are you asking because you want new pipes?

The V&H Fuelpak is VERY user freindly, costs over $100 less than the PC and if you are only doing pipes and a breather it works great. If you plan future engine modificationd the PC seems to be the system of choice from what I have read in this forum.

You've got oxygen sensors in your exhaust that keep the EFI calibrated - within reason.  If all you do is take off the stock mufflers and put on other mufflers, you don't need a fuel manager.  BUT, it will run better and cooler if you add one, and you'll be set up for more mods later - like a high flow air cleaner.  If you plan to keep your mods simple, the V&H Fuel Pak has been a good choice for a few guys I know.
