    Sterling Chromite Cable.

I need a set of three inch extended throttle cables for the Yamaha 2008 1100 Classic. I don't know which cables I need. The order pages are unclear. There is an idle cable listed and a throttle cable. I need a little help choosing which ones. Thanks

Last night I did the research again so I'll clarify the question a little.

Some time back I ordered the Sterling Idle Cable in a +3 extension for my 2008 V-Star 1100 Classic. The V-Star requires two cables, an Idle and a Throttle. From what I see on the web pages and in the catalog JP doesn't carry the +3 Throttle cable. I can order the cables as a set from Sterling direct but then I've wasted $60 for an Idle cable I don't need. It just seems odd that JP doesn't carry both cables when it takes two to complete a project.

Am I missing it somewhere on in the catalog or on the web? Will the V-Star Custom +3 Throttle cable fit which JP does carry?

    Thanks

    Jake

looks to me like you are gonna hafta call J&P's 1-800 number to get a response

When workin' on your ride the first tool out of the box should be the manual

The "idle cable" is your second throttle cable on your bike..which is different than your idle screw on the right side of the bike nears the air cleaner.

I agree with the third post about calling. I've always recieved good responces to questions here in these forums. The last responce was really strange. Maybe he didn't read the questions right. I need the +3 Sterling throttle cable. why JP has the +3 idle cable listed and not the +3 throttle cable is still odd. It seems that if you need two different cables to do a job then they might carry them both, not just one.

Jake81499: Iam sorry i did not see the other posts..I did some checking and the fitment is incorrect in our book. The best was for you to get the cables you need is to take a measurement of the cables and see how many inches over the stock length you need., it sounds like you wanted +3 inches. If that is correct we can have a set made for you from Barnett in 3 different finishes platinum, stainless, or black vinyl which ever you would like.. but you will have to give us a call to get those on order...

I finally found the Sterling number that I need for the throttle cable. The Magnumshielding.com number is 833173-Y. That is for the +3 throttle. I don't want to go with other brands since all my cables other cables are Sterling. It seems the only ones JP doesn't carry are the choke and the throttle in a +3.
