Scott Eyer :
I replaced that hose & it no longer leaks & I did bleed it right but still same problem. I took the master cyl. off cleaned it with carb cleaner & I am going to re-install it hope that fixes the problem if not then I guess I need to buy a new Master Cyl.
Carb cleaner? i would rather have heard break cleans - not sure of the chemical make-up of carb cleaner with respect to drying in a manner that doesn't introduce contaminates into the braking system.
That said, the newer style master cylinders are more difficult to get blead than the older stuff - I know with my '82 up style master cylinder I have to bench bleed the master cylinder then install the line and install it on the bike (all at the same time trying to make sure I don't get brake fluid on any painted surfaces).
as a additional thought, you aren't mixing Dot5 with Dot3 or Dot4? Not a good idea (don't ask me how I found out. . .)
hope this helps
