    Rhinehart exhaust upgrade

I recently upgraded to true dual Rhinhart exhaust for my 07 Road King. Have had no problems, bike runs and sounds great, problem is I went in for my 5000k service and was told that I was running too hot, running too lean, and that I need to add a fuel managemment system, they recommmended the Terry Components Terminal Velocity kit to correct this issue. My question is why didnt the Harley dealership tell me this when the exhaust was originally installed?( (different dealership)..   they told my that my engine will evently get damanged due to the extreme heat. at the cost of 980$ bucks to add this part  and a new air intake, with labor supposedly is going to save me from buying a new motor down the road. Has anyone else out there had any issues adding true duals and then having to add a fuel management system?..  Just want to make sure I'm not getting taken. thanks...

the isuue is not limited to the tru dual, it involves any free flowing exhaust. reducing the backpressure, leans out the mixture, which causes high engine and exhaust temps. granted, the twin cam motor is designed to run hot, due to the lean mixtures mandated by the current epa regulations, but excessive heat is not good for any engine. i would certainly recommend a fuel management system, properly tuned, it will drop your engine temperature and make the bike run better

If you change the way your motor breaths (in or out) you'll need a fuel management system. I have a PCIII for my 07 FLHRS.
