    Kawi 1700 Vulcan Voyager ABS

I've had this new bike for about two weeks now and it has is abundantly clear that any new accessories will be  a while in coming.

Some of the things I anticipate purchasing for the new sled are: new risers and bars, fender tips, front and rear and probably saddlebag rails.  How long does it take for OEM and aftermarket companies to gear up and put out such products ordinarily?  Are any of these items fitable from other makes / model Kawis?

Usually takes 1-3 years for stuff to become available for new disigned machines.

You should be able to use just about any of the handlebars and risers out there. You may have to drill out your trippletree, riser mounting holes. I have moded several bikes

over the past 30 years. On most Crusiers the only differerence is the mounting holes in

the tree and risers are different metric thread sizes. I drilled out and old honda shadows tripple trees riser mounting holes to a 1/2" through hole one time. This allowed me to use most any of the risers made for the harleys. I would not let the lack of  made for my bike parts keep me from making it my own. Just be carefull and think about what you are doing and do the research to be sure it will all work before you make a costly mistake. mojojerry

Well, it seems that risers, handlebars and most lighting options are pretty much generic - and I was able to find, with only one snag, a set of riders for the new sled.  The hardest part was removing an over-torqued original left riser - took me the better part of 90 minutes ro loosen the damn thing and I was only able todo that with help.

The first set of risers I got were allegedly "made for the '09 Vulcan Voyager,..except they were made for a 1" bar and the bike comes with 1 1/4: bars.  So, a couple of e-mails were swapped and though they tried to make me feel like a fool -"are you sure they're 1 1/4"? Do they reduce to 1" where the risers go?  I've been doing my own wrenching since '71 and risers installation isn't brain surgery.  Anyhow, they checked their 'research' and admitted to their error, sending me a corrected set, which mounted with no trouble at all.

Thanks for your time and response.
