    kick start new trans.

    my 66 shovelhead, i got a new tranny from j&p , a: c.c.i 4 speed (not my first choice , but $$$ choice)

    anyway. my old trans would start 2nd or 3rd kick without fail!, this guy i need viagra to keep tryn!n o matter what it will not turn over or spark, not a flinch.

    i also have a starter as well and that kicks it over,

    any ideas.

     It may be unrelated, and just a coincidence that the hard kick starting happened when you installed the new transmission. Check your tune-up parts and timing, plugs & wires, coil, etc................

         Like FX said, I would check all connections to the coil and any other wires you would have removed to install the transmission. You said it wasn't sparking, that has nothing to do with the tranny. If your Electric start fires the bike, it may be that you are not getting the motor to turn over fast enough, with the kickstarter, to get it to fire. The old one was worn and loose, turned over easier, the new transmission is tight.
