    wiring

    i have converted a 74 sporty iornhead to a bpbber and need some info on how to rewire it. i am just running a headlight, runninglight and a brake light. i have some ideas but not really sure. anyone got some ideas

    make a photo copy of the wiring diagram in your shop manual and use a highlitter to trace the curcits yoiu will want (you will also probably want the speedo / tack circuts, horm, oil light, etc.)

    When workin' on your ride the first tool out of the box should be the manual

     Just finished my 1983 iron head sporty. I changed all the connectors from stock to Deutsch to keep the water out. Also removed the wiring from the headlight to under the tank. Moved the coil from under the fork head to in from of the battery box. and replaced the turn signals and brake light to LED's. If you want to rewire your bike also check your state regulations on horn, turn signals, etc. that are required. If you don't require them then head on!

     If you need help I have a 1979 to 1984 wiring diagram. Also you might need an oil and generator light or guage if you want to.
