Got this problem I’ve been trying to figure out the solution on my own but a little help from my friends may give me a bit more insight on what’s out there. On my wife’s 08 softail deluxe, we’ve installed the Kuryakyn crash bar as this bike comes with no bar at all. The problem is the toe shift lever is so close to the lower left rear side; her size (8) boot can’t get under the shifter without bumping into the bar. So she’s been heel shifting since she’s had the bike. I know HD engineered this system to be used either way, toe or heel. I still feel like long term use of the heel puts too much stress on the shift mechanism. Also, watching her heel shift, I see a wobble each time she has to lift her leg to make a shift. Question is has anyone else had this problem, and does anyone know of a shorter shifter (the only solution I can come up with) I can install that matches the factory lever? I don’t see any way of adjusting the bar forward. All replies are appreciated.

I was under the impression that all Harley except the Sportster line uses the Twin Cam B & the Sportsters use the Evo engine.

I read that the pogo style solo seats like in the WLA & 1948 Panhead cannot usually be used with the Harley Twin Cam B engine, is this true? Is it because the Twin Cam B is to wide or big?

The reason I am asking is because I want a WLA style bike with a modern engine. I want to keep the solo pogo seat style on the bike.

Loud pipes

I'd like to find out if i can get some loud slip-ons for my '03 FLHPI.. thanks

Solo Luggage rack with Corbin classic solo seat

Looking at the Motherwell solo luggage rack for 2009 HD Road King. We have these luggage racks on a 01 & 05 Hd Road King with the Corbin Classic Solo seat. With the 2009 upgraded frame, we were forced to order new Corbin Classic seats and after installation, discovered that the solo luggage rack off the 01 & 05 models will not fit with the new Corbin seats. The bolt pattern is the same but the seat design will not all the luggage rack to slide beneath the seat. My question is will the Motherwell 840-150 solo luggage rack fit the 2009 Road King with the Corbin Classic seats? Thanks in advance.

Police solo seat mount for a Road King

I am desperately looking for place to buy a Police solo seat kit (seat, air suspension and hardware) for a Road king (model 2004)

Have been having some starting issues with this machine, typicaly wont crank and fire without a jump when cold. Did not want to pursue this issue in deptht this past summer, rather ride than work on it. So wimter is here and time to work on it. I am puting in a rebuit starter, new batery cables ( originals pretty coroded at crimps), all new conecting hardware ( star washers, etc ), new battery.

What is a typical running amp draw for a 1991 FLHTCU?
Thinking about replacing battery with an Odyssey Maintenance-Free Battery ( 925) JP Part Number:350-155

I was on the Odessy web site and found this in there online manual.

"SPECIAL NOTICE! ( http://www.odysseyfactory.com/documents/US-ODY-OM-007_0209.pdf )

• CUSTOM V-TWIN MOTORCYCLE INSTALLATIONS USING ODYSSEY PC535, PC545, PC545MJ, PC680MJ
& PC925LMJ BATTERIES
If your V-Twin motorcycle is equipped with a standard 32 amp single phase stator/alternator, the appropriate
ODYSSEY battery may run out of charge after about 150 miles of riding. To avoid this situation we strongly
recommend the ODYSSEY Ultimizer™ charger model OMAX-6A-1B for existing 32 amp equipped bikes, with the
charger being operated continuously during the non-use of the bike and/or installing a 3-phase 40 amp or higher
stator/alternator, especially in new bikes.
• Prolonged storage of vehicles with fuel injection computers, alarms, GPS and other electrical devices that require
continuous battery power to support active memories; this power drain must be offset with a maintenance-float
charger, periodic charging or disconnecting the battery to prevent the establishment of irreversible crystallized
sulphation in the battery plate oxide. Failure to address this destroys battery capacity and voids the warranty,
as this is not a warranted defect in materials or workmanship."

I would hate to part with $240.00 for a new batery, to learn at a lator date i need a higher amp capacity stator/regulator.
Any one run into this before?

when spending so much money it is nice to know i can hopefully find info here when it comes to forcing myself head first into this lifestyle.. when i talk to a local mech. he will tell me to stay away from the belt, go with a chain, stay away from opened primary, they will take your pant leg and chew it up along with your leg... forget revtech. he won't even work on em cuz he knows the work is never done with those engines.. and then there is the s & s..now that really gets complicated.. then i come across this, a bike with all this sounds like a dream.. a 2005 with under 4,000... with:

S&S OHV 45 DEGREE V TWIN ENGINE

107 CUBIC INCH DISPLACEMENT

9.6/1 COMPRESSION RATIO

95HP

4" BORE X 4.25" STROKE

S&S SUPER G CARB.

3.2 GALLON FUEL TANK

3.5 QUART OIL CAPACITY

6 SPEED MANUAL TRANS.

CLOSED CHAIN WET CLUTCH WET

125 TOOTH, KEVLAR BELT FINAL DRIVE

ELECTRONIC SPEEDOMETER-TACH DIGITAL

DAYTONA TWIN TECH IGNITION

32 AMP CHARGING SYSTEM

12V LOW MAINT BATTERY

alot of bike!! but does the hp match the engine size? the battery able to handle all this with 32 amp system? super g troublesome? don't know what kind of trans, but will find out... is this a bike to be ridden hard and everyday or some princess that needs to be pampered.. man, it jut goes on and on....

It starts fine, runs for less than a minute and quits jut as though someone hit the kill switch. It had a code that the crank positioning sensor was bad, so he changed that. The code is gone now but the bike still quits after running less than a minute.
