mustang seat replacements

can anyone give me some help on their experience on replacing a factory harley seat with a mustang? talking about a 98 dynawide pillow dual on a wg. waiting on anyone who has experienced.

Attempted theft of 2000 FLSTF

I was at Valley Forge Harley Davidson with my girl friend on the 30 of august 2009 and some one attempted to steal my bike.

What they did was to remove the barrel lock from the ignition switch. But I had locked the forks also and the attempt was thawarted.

What I'm wondering is how they got the barrel lock out of the ignition switch?

Any body had this type of thing happen to them or how the barrel was removed. I was inside the store and heard my bike start. as it is quite loud and unique sound to my ears. But since front end was locked, the thief or thieves could not get away with the bike and dispersed into the crowd in the area.

Will be installing an alarm wired to the horn next.

Motorcycle Crash Study Petition

Once every generation, we get a chance for a new Motorcycle Crash Causation Study. The last one, by Harry Hurt, was published in 1981. It made recommendations that led to always-on headlights and improvements in rider training. These were major factors in the one-third reduction in motorcycle fatalities between the mid-1980s and mid-1990s.

In October 2009, US DOT announced a new Crash Causation Study authorized by the SAFETEA-LU bill. The scope of the study has since been trimmed to only 300 crashes, far fewer than the 900 to 1200 originally required, which is what all experts agree is needed for good statistics. Bikers need this new study because 5290 bikers die yearly in crashes, we don't fully understand why, and we need good crash causation information to ride safely and inform public policy. The new study has the potential to find the current causes of crashes, and identify successful riding strategies that might work for us all.

We believe that the stakeholders need to figure out a way to use our tax dollars wisely and ensure the study samples 900 to 1200 crashes, as originally required.

FLHT vs. FLTR Fairing

I've been considering buying a dresser and I am curious to hear feedback from someone who has owned and ridden both bikes with regards to the fork mounted fairing vs. the frame mounted fairing. I'm not concerned with looks or ergonomics. I just want to know about the ride, particulary stability in the wind at highway speeds. Thanks in advance.

Do you put both feet or one foot down at stop signs??

Do you use both feet down at stop signs or do you only put one foot down,or do you not put any feet down at stop signs? I use one the left and use the right to hold the rear the brake. sometimes I hold the bike to a full stop without putting any foot down. I hear in some states both feet are required and some states only require one foot down. here in CA the law states you must come to a complete stop. says nothing about any feet down. I would say the left foot down would be safer than no feet down. so states give you a choice some do not. Is their a county wide list to look at, so one could find out which state requires both feet down or one foot down or no feet down?

Hi gang,

I'm a Honda VTX owner and a tall fellow (6'4). I get terrible back pain after about 50 miles and am wondering if a taller set of bars won't help a little bit. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience of a taller rider? I'd appreciate any advice. I love to ride but can only get an hour or so in, before I start to look for a wide spot in the road to get out of the saddle and stretch my back.

Suing A Motorcycle Shop??

Do you think that it is in my best interest to hire an attorney and sue this Custom Shop that stole my eternal parts from my 124cc. S&S engine and my 6 speed overdrive?? Or just have everything fixed ( replaced ) at my own cost?? I just feel like a PUNK if I don`t take them to court and sue them for everything I can!!! Others are telling me that it will probably cost me just as much to fix the bike and pay for it myself, than paying for an attorney!! Communication System

I want to add some sort of CB and intercom system to my bike. I have an 07 Road King Classic and don't want to spend an arm an a leg on it. I would like a microphone/earpiece set up that can be used with or without a helmet. Any suggestions?

All I wanted was advance replacement, I realize the product is Lindby but if J&P is going to sell it they need to make it right for the customer. All they offered is to send it back via US Postal (Snail Mail), they would inspect, then send another out. I already ordered another cheaper and not from J&P. Now I gotta go burn my J&P Tee!

I have read the things said about me, and laughed my ass off...

I am alive, well,... and on two wheels.

but ya, been inkin' and studying,... and more important, riding my as much as I can. I am now onto my second replacement set of rear brakes. gonna tackle changing the pads myself for the first time...

estemating my rididng, and how often to replace,.. 2 rear sets for every front replaced. would cost 300.00 a year going to a shop. and thats just nuts. so I realy want to be able to do this myself, as with almost everything else.

I also did my oil changes, tighted up the clutch and checked my belts, all is going good, so I think I can move onto tackling the brakes... but I of course am not doing anything with out checking with you guys on here.

I also finaly got my passenger pegs, and pillion,.... and I gotta say, having my lady holding on while hauling ass on the 405frywy kicks ass! I also may be getting into a tat shop, "fine tattoo work" in Orange, Ca.

hope everyone has been doing good,... and stayin in the wind.

Just saw on the local news that Milwaukee Iron in Lynchburg, VA will be closing down. They're gonna have an auction on Aug. 27. Seems they're selling everything, including the name. Their building will go too unless someone wants to lease it beforehand.
