    2001 xlc long oil filter

I know that the long chrome filter  from a big twin will fit on the Sporty, I just can find which model. I think it was a Softtail but not sure.

The configurations are all the same. Just don't use a filter made for a Twin Cam on your Sportster...Any Shovelhead or Evolution filter will work...

Any?  If true then that's cool.  The local shop always seemed to make a semi-production out of what model's filter could be used on it. Tired of paying the Harley Tax, ya' know?

That's for exterior size to fit into the space where it goes. The screw-on end with rubber seals are all the same...Just don't use the Twinkie filter on any other bike. They filter a smaller micron because they can, with their higher pressure oil pumps...
