    '96 tapered bearing spacer

I'm in the process of changing my front wheel bearings on my '96 sportster. When I got everything disassembled I saw that there was no spacer between the bearings. Timkin bearings with around 14k miles, so I can assume they're original. I'm getting conflicting info on this. Should there be a spacer between the bearings or not?

I would think so. Your service manual will show you how to set the end play...They have spacer kits here at J&P. Are you sure it's not in there? It's a pipe that could be hard to detect with all the grease.
