Passing Lamp Trim Rings for 2002 Roadking PN:69622-99A

Just purchased the rings and they don't fit. The actual ring doesn't go all the way around the lamp housing. (Yes I did remove the old rings before trying to install the new ones). The problem is so obvious, the screws that came with the rings are not even long enough to go through. I bought longer screws and after installing the rings, I had a half inch gap at the bottom which looks terrible! Anybody heard of this problem? Any solutions?

I put them on my roadking and only have an 1/8 of an inch gap, looks ok, I agree they do not fit great, I had to really crank them down to reduce the gap. I think they look cool though.

Put 69622-99A on my 2001 RK. They went on fine. I also have about 1/8" gap at bottom. I can live with that. Edited by - Unome on 3/29/02 7:27 AM

I've got em on my 2000, and they fit fine. I change over lease police bike (FLHPI) once a year, and although the lights are the same, some just fit different than the others. Go figure.

POLECLIMBER: Just take them back and forget about it for right now. Custom Chrome has the same problem because they are made by the same manufacturer in Thiland. Harley say's they are working on the problem. There are 30,000 sets out there!! Wait a while until they come out with a new batch.

My FLSTFI had what I thought were excessive gaps in the passing lamp trim rings too. So I tightened them down to close up the gap and crushed/cracked one of the sealed beam lamps. Luckily I had just picked up the bike and the dealer assumed they had done it (I forgot to tell him I had jacked with them..hehe) and he replaced it free. Anyhow, be careful....I have learned to be happy with all 3 gaps equal instead of gone.

I bought a pair, they say, fits all "62 and later models with passing lamps, also fits accessory kit # 68250-80. I put them on my 97 FLSTS. I had to turn the screw all the way off the nut to get them on, mine also have about an 1/8 inch gap, I guess the aluminium tape they have on the rubber is suppose to be good enough. At $40.00, you'd think it would fit better. My old rings had a gap, but I just excepted it as is when I bought the bike new. I think I pay more attention to parts and accessories when I'm replaceing stock parts. Maybe it's just me. good luck limozn
