    2001 Sportster Hugger Shocks

I'm looking to replace my stock shocks.  I don't want to lower the bike any (it's already low)..  if anything I could add maybe a 1/2" and not change the ride much.

It looks like the stock part for this bike was 54566-97 which is a 13 1/2 inch shock.  Is that correct?

    I'm looking at these shocks - https://www.jpcycles.com/product/701-471/progressive-suspension-412-black-13-1-2-standard-shocks

Progressive Suspension 412 Black 13-1/2" Standard Shocks
    Manufacturer Part Number 412-4009B
    J&P Part: 701-471

Will those be the same height as my stock shocks?

These shocks are less than a inch taller:

Progressive Suspension 412 Black 14-1/4" Standard Shocks
    Manufacturer Part Number 412-4004B
    J&P Part: 701-749

Will they fit?  Change the ride much?  I currently have a 21" wheel up front.

I have a larger tire on the rear end and there's currently enough space with existing shocks to avoid any wheel rub.. I don't want any shorter shocks than I currenyly have.  So either the same height or just a bit taller.

    Re: 2001 Sportster Hugger Shocks

good morning. 54566-97 is the regular height shock for sportster, at 13.5 inches. . the oem number for the hugger was 54568-92, which should be a 12 inch shock. you can verify by measuring mount bolts center to center. the 412 for that would be 701-831 chr, 701-753 blk. if you and passenger are over 250 lbs, you need heavy duty springs. the heavy duty shocks are 690-683 chr, 701-834 blk. the 12 inch shocks generally have a heavier spring than the 13.5 shocks, to prevent bottoming. you can order on line, or if you want to order from my store in Anamosa, our number is 319-462-4817
