    handlebar wiring

Can anybody tell me how long it should take to internally wire a set of new bars on a '09 harley fatboy. I was charged 8 hours and thought it was a bit much. Wondering if i should go to another dealer.

8 hours?  That is BS.  I did mine in my 07 Roadglide in 2 hours. Just to pull the wires.  It took that long because I didn't know how to take the plugs apart.  Did they have to cut the handlebars or did you put aftermarket bars that are pre-drilled?  Even if they had to drill and slot your stock bars it shouldn't have taken no more than 4.  I drilled and slotted, ran the wires inside them for my 07 Roadglide.  I didn't have to add any length to them, but still.....................................

even with splicing in additional wire for length it should not take any more than 2 hours max - I have done my own several times (4 bikes, some handlebars swapped multiple times out of boredom), as well as a few buddies I take care of the mechanicals on their bikes and swapped a few bars there also - 8 HOURS???!!!!!  run as fast as you can away from that one
