    Banana Caliper Bangs and Squeeks

What's the best way to get rid of that banging and squeeking on those old banana calipers?

The banging is mostly caused from egged out mounting holes.  I just cut a short piece of gas line & squeeze it in between the fork tube & the caliper.. (Don't laugh) this works well..I still have a piece in there since last set of pads were installed back in 02 & NO banging..

The squeaks, I grind a taper to the brake pads leading edges, & sand the pad surfaces (course grit)  that usually fixes it..

Note: any brake pads may still contain asbestos & should be treated as so.. Wear a mask... We only get 1 set of lungs as oem.......
