  • Backwards running gauge......

I have a 86 FLHTC, the oil pressure gauge was broken, so I went to the dealer for a replacement, but they are dicontinued. The factory replacement is a 99 gauge. It looks identical, fits perfectly and the connections are the same. I installed it and it runs backwards. With the ignition on, motor not...

  • Re: Starter issues

I am having the same problem. It maybe the jack shaft gear is not connecting with your ring gear properly on startup .. The jack shaft gear may not be retracting properly and it"s hanging up on your ring gear because there no longer inline with one another .. maybe check the primary fluid for discoloration...

  • Re: Cylinder head temp

The bike is stock nothing done, I'm thinking about installling 2:1 supertrap exhaust, and adding a Vance & Hines Fuel pack. And starting over again, what do you think about the combination I picked out? or do you have a better Idea. FXDWI 2006. Thanks, Larry

  • Rear cylinder shutdown

I have a 2004 Road King Custom Classic 88 with big juggs so a 95. Runs like a top EXCEPT. Out of the clear blue sky on hot days and cold days, in the city and the highway my rear cylinder shuts down for a minute or 2 and then fires right back up and goes along fine for another hour or so without a problem...

  • Bad Starter Relay??

When I went to fire up my bike ('97 Fatboy) , I hit the starter switch, the bike seemed like it started to turnover for a half a second, then all the lights went out. After sitting for a few minutes with the ignition switch off, when I turn it back on, the lights come back on but I have similar results...

  • HElp with firing problem?

My 84" EVO doesn't seem to be firing. After installing a re-built starter, new solenoid, new battery I try to start it and it only turns over. I checked the coil (which is only a couple months old and is showing proper Ohms when checked)., and the Crane HI-Four ignition is lit and blinks while...

  • Re: Best replacements for handlebar switches/chrome for 1979 Sportster XLH?

Okay, not bad. However, I'm willing to "not" keep it completely "stock" and I was wondering if a control set - like below - would work. Has anybody out there replace the switches with something like these? Chrome Handlebar Controls with Switches J&P Part: 500-443

  • Re: Best replacements for handlebar switches/chrome for 1979 Sportster XLH?

The question that I need to ask you, Ironhead, is, "Did you use a stock HD button set or did you use an aftermarket set?" The reason I'm asking is to make sure that I nail a working set for the bike and avoid wasting the time and restocking fee of getting a switch set that won't fit...

  • HDI Models

I have a 2010 FLHTCU HDI model which has the dip beam headlight permanently on. Is that the norm for US models? Question is, I have just ordered the HID replacement bulb kit (306-916) for touring and as it would be on all the time, could this effect its life span and/or heat output in the nacelle. I...
