  • Re: Best replacements for handlebar switches/chrome for 1979 Sportster XLH?

Okay, not bad. However, I'm willing to "not" keep it completely "stock" and I was wondering if a control set - like below - would work. Has anybody out there replace the switches with something like these? Chrome Handlebar Controls with Switches J&P Part: 500-443

  • Re: Best replacements for handlebar switches/chrome for 1979 Sportster XLH?

The question that I need to ask you, Ironhead, is, "Did you use a stock HD button set or did you use an aftermarket set?" The reason I'm asking is to make sure that I nail a working set for the bike and avoid wasting the time and restocking fee of getting a switch set that won't fit...

  • '79 Ironhead Sportster Oil Question

Does anyone know what the old labeling of HD's 105 Grade "Regular Heavy" oil equate to in current SAE standards? Is there any better high heat oil than this form a "Sporty" with "ALOT" of miles on it? Also best recommendation for Oil Filter? Was going to go with a K&N...

  • '04 1200C Handlebar/Riser/Speedometer ideas?

I've been looking to replace my stock handlebars on my '04 Sportster 1200 Custom. If I could find the right set with just a couple more inches of rise over stock, I'd do exactly that, just the handlebars. But with the stock pullback riser/speedometer set-up, finding a set that can avoid that...

  • Any help with Fuel Pack type devices for 2013 Sportster Iron 883

I have a 2013 Sportster Iron 883. I am gradually buying parts to increase horsepower and make it sound better. So far I have the Vance & Hines Shortshot pipes. Now my question is. What type of Fuel pack device would be best suited and what about the air cleaner? I have heard horror stories from the...

  • Floorboards for 1200 Custom

Hi. I have an anniversary edition 2013 1200 Custom. I am looking for longer floorboards. I currently have HD 4" mini floorboards and am not happy. Would like something longer than the 8" ones that will fit my bike. Any suggestions?
