  • Electrical Malfunction - HELP ME!!!!

    !990 Sportster, turned on key, hit starter button, all electrics went dead. I have tested ignition switch and circuit breakers for continuity - all good. Was told to get rid of connectors inside headlight bucket and solder/heatshrink wires - did. Still nothing... Any ideas what i should check?

    When it quits it can be started right back up if I turn the Run/Stop switch to off then right back on....traced the wires to the switch back to the Dana 2000 Ignition unit...the only wires that go off when the switch is turned off is the ones from the Ignition unit.     Thank You I looked at the other answers and now not sure but I am certian you all know much more than I but it seems that a relay would work this way and not a solid state unit as mentioned to me so before I purchase a new Dana system I am tracing out and replacing fuse switchs again I thank you all...
