I  was removing the inner primary to change a belt anyway so I removed the shaft, made a small plate to fit from the back side,  drilled a hole to put a bolt in and voila...all gone!   (I did put some black silicone on the primary before putting the plate in).    Looks good, and it doesn't leak  BUT Irish's way is quicker!Wink

On my '93 FXRS I was able to get a "universal" plug  from an autoparts store.  Basically it is a round rubber wedge, with a bolt through the middle.  As you tighten the bolt it expands the wedge and seals the hole. It was only a couple bucks and works well.    The plugs come in size ranges.  Just to be safe I bought two different sizes but if memory serves I ended up using the one marked 3/4" - 7/8".  Good luck
