• Re: Pogo Stick and T-bars

Wow ,i had forgot about the Pogo stick seat now that I have an 06 heritage. When I had my 1979 FLH, I worked in a metal fab shop. I used one of the Springs from a Sheetmetal stamp mill. There were many different springs to choose from. So when I found the right spring it worked great. I just added it to the out side of the seat stem. It worked great.
  • Re: Stripped shift lever

I know this is a little off the request, but it reminded me of when this happened to my 1974 yamaha 360 DT. In those days the Fix was a Welder. I know it's very Crude, and Quick fix.

  • Re: points problem

Wow, I didn't reallize this was so common. I to had my orginal electronic ignition quit on my 79 FLH in 2001. So I installed chevy points and condenser, with a new stock points coil. the set up still runs great to this date. And if the points or condenser fails chevy parts are easy to find.
Personally I wouldn't use the HD syn. I run Mobile1 V-twin 20-50 in my bikes and never have a weep problem. Changing oil every 3k. I don't run engine oil in my trans and primary. I am a firm believer in the lubricating ability of syn to coat the moving parts and reduce engine temps.
Sleep What is the difference between HD syn and Moblile 1?? I've used both and have not noticed any difference Except I can go down the street to atuo zone and

  • Re: which winter gloves to get?

If your gloves are not warm enough, I saw a set up on a Harley that look pretty cool and it also looked like it would keep the cold air off your hands. I was a clear plastic clamped to the handle bar. one for each hand. Kinda like a brush guard on a dirt bike , only this looked good on the harley. Of course if you have a Full fairing you would allready have wind protection. my Gloves are nothing special, just thinsulate insulation 40 gram. They work ok last winter above 32 degrees .After about 1

  • Re: to s&s or not to s&s

What air filter are you going to use? If you are going to go with high compression pistons and V&H short shots you should complete the change over with a Free flowing air filter and then change your Carb jet's, so the engine can breath right.
