Don't know your bike but I put a taller set of bars on my Road King and am much more comfortable. I'm 6'1".

I would try it on over the leathers but I think that is accounted for when the suits are sized. Also, you get what you pay for; I bought one of the less expensive suits and although it works well it doesn't keep all the water out on a real soaker. I don't know if any really do.

Very good point on Item 2 Iron! Of all the things to think about on this issue I never, nor did the reviewer in the article I mentioned above, thought about the fixed headlight issue. I end up riding in the dark through the country on the way home from job 2 a couple nights a week and when the corn is high as well as during the harvest season the critters are on the run. I have not ridden or owned either; I enjoy the non-fairing look of my Road King. That being said, there was a very good article/review regarding this question in an issue of Hot Baggers magazine; I think back in September. The rider in that case preferred the the frame mounted fairing on the Road Glide over the fork mounted as far as handling and stability. I will try to remember to look when I get home and see which issue it was. He explains in some detail the reasons why.

Just an fyi...don't know if this will help at all. I have V&H Big Shot Duals and the Fuelpak. I had popping issues during decel after it was installed and V&H Tech Support gave me a new value for one of the modes, I think the very last one and it solved the problem. My pipes are baffled and I actually switched to quieter baffles after the first month. Again V&H provided a new map for the Fuelpak and I have had no issues. If you compare the V&H price vs. buying both through J&P you may qualify for free shipping through J&P and save some money. Ness Big Sucker would be a good breather and work with your OEM air cleaner cover.
