  • Re: 92 Fatboy spitting oil...

A breather filter is NOT gonna make a motor puke oil,...1992 was last year of the case breathers..So the filter on the hose is to prevent any crap getting sucked in when the motor is on the up-stroke & sucking in. If this only happens after you let bike sit for a couple days or more, it is likely the check ball & seat in the oil pump allowing oil to slowly seep by & sump in the motor case. When you fire up it pukes it out.. The correct term is motor sumping. Suggest ya wash the filter

  • Re: Only runs with choke on

Check the intake seals for leaking. If no leaks then pull the carb bowl & remove jets & clean. (20 minutes) ..

  • Re: Cheap FLH

First front Disc brake for Shovel was 1972 (banana caliper)..Sounds like at least a 1972, or later. Make sure you check the VIN #s' on motor & frame neck against the Title.. Yep, now is a good time for deals...Providing ya got the means $$$.. I agree, economy comes back & so will bike prices.... Should you avoid an early cone/shovel ? Heck no!!! But $5k is too much in this economy, based on your description. Now if it was a 1966 - 1969 Shovel, I would be very interested !!!!!!!!

  • Re: Banana Caliper Bangs and Squeeks

The banging is mostly caused from egged out mounting holes. I just cut a short piece of gas line & squeeze it in between the fork tube & the caliper.. (Don't laugh) this works well..I still have a piece in there since last set of pads were installed back in 02 & NO banging.. The squeaks, I grind a taper to the brake pads leading edges, & sand the pad surfaces (course grit) that usually fixes it.. Note: any brake pads may still contain asbestos & should be treated as so.. Wear

  • Re: Gas boiling in a 5 gal gas tank, on a 06 FLSTC at Idle

I would always have a big fan aimed at the motor, while doing things on a bike.. Air cooled is only effective when Air is passing around the motor, NOT PARKED.

  • Re: Suing A Motorcycle Shop??

If you have proof of these allegations. IMO first flile a report with the BBB against the shop.. They will notify the shop of your complaint.. Then the shop will be aware you are serious.. Then if no satisfaction comes from this. Get a Good lawyer & go after them.. Exactly what shop are you talkling about ??? Don't be shy...
