  • Re: ignition timing.

framer1994 If you have a poor compression issue like stated above you could be chasing problems. What was your loss in compression? Also you mentioned you thought you had a coil issue. What coil are you running with the ignition.

  • Re: Cable to electronic pick up.....Staff?

raypfatboy Yes we have part number 381-736 this will convert your mechanical speedo signal to an electric one. This part will work with any speedo, the problem is you will need some interface that will calibrate the speedometer if you do not use a dakota digital self calibrating speedometer.

  • Re: ignition timing.

framer1994 The attached link is the installation instructions for this unit. Instructions . When you talk about a loss in compression what is the % lost of the number of PSI on each cylinder? A number of things can cause a loss in compression. Here are some examples. Major loss-Poor Cam timing, Bad rings, Excessive Piston-cylinder wall clearance, ect. Another common problem people fail to do when checking compression on a motorcycle that is fully assembled is to hold the throttle fully open to ensure

  • Re: Power Commander

Good anwser pbabadoo . You would not necessarily have to remove the SERT for the PCIII to work but you would have to modify the corrections further than where the SERT is set which would require dyno tuning and custom mapping. None of the PCIII default maps would come close. And it would be pointless. The thing about the SERT from my expierience is that about 1 out of 5 Harley Mechanics actually know how to properly tune a SERT. And it usually requires a several dyno runs in order to get it tuned

  • Re: Forward control exstenion kit P/N 540-058

You will have everything included in the kit for installation. Its fairly simple and we recommend purchasing some thread locking compound like part number 900-297 . We have not had any negative product reviews from this particular product and have sold several sets of the Hardbody forward controls.

  • Re: Yamaha XS650 parallel twin style engine + Big Twin style 49 tooth sprotor = problems

Wow what a question!!! Looks like you have done your research. First of all I use the following website for gear ratio calculating in relation to tire circumference/gear ratio/final drive ratio. They happen to have your stock gearing already preloaded into the website which would be helpful. http://www.gearingcommander.com/ An intermediate shaft or jackshaft what some people call is a way to have a gear reduction/increase in a situation just like yours, or a way to offset the sprockets in wide tire

  • Re: Vance and Hines Exhaust

Fatboy2010 Not sure if you already purchased the exhaust/fuelpak but just to let you know we are running a special promo for a short time if you purchase a Vance and Hines exhaust and a Fuelpak you recieve a $100 J&P gift card. That would work out great on a purchase for a new air cleaner as well. The part numbers for your motorcycle would be. 441-936 . Exhaust and 402-795 for the fuelpak. Sorry i didn't see this post sooner or I would have chimed in as well.
