  • Re: 2008 FLH wallering thru the corners

Steve, the problem is the swingarm pivot bracket. The progressive part lacks the the raised boss that the passenger footboard bolts to. Street Glides have a peg and without that boss, the peg bracket hits the upper bolt on the pivot bracket.

Continuing to follow up with Progressive on their Touring Link. It turns out that the right swingarm bracket, the one you change with the kit, does not have the raised boss that the stock part has. This causes interference with the stock Street Glide foot peg bracket. This backet is different than the typical bagger footboard bracket. You have to either modify the peg bracket or the lower swingarm mount bolt to make it work. I ground some material off the bolt, but I'm not happy with that solution

Working with Progressive on poor fit issue is not going well. I feel smoke blowing near my backside. Stay tuned.

I put one on last night. A serious interference problem won't allow the passenger peg bracket to be put back on. I'm working with Progressive to solve the problem. Otherwise a very simple install and it works as advertised.

  • Re: choke

Not sure about Sportsters, but you can usually increase the friction on the choke by tighting up a nut just behind the mounting bracket. I did one about 10 years ago but can't visualize what they look like. Sorry... oldtimers desease.

Rocky Mountain National Park and the area around Estes Park are favorites. I also like the ride from Glenwood Springs to Independence Pass.

I'm good nuk. Thanks for asking. I'm working a lot of hours and I haven't been able to spend much time here in the last few months. I do peek in a couple of times a week just to check up on you guys though.

The fuel gauge on my 2006 FLHX was way off from new but I didn't care because, hey, we got along fine without 'em for decades. Then I thought, I paid a lot of money for this thing. . . there gonna' fix it. The dealer replaced the sender and now it's as accurate as any fuel gauge I've seen. But I still use the odometer.

  • Re: Can you believe this?

Rode my bagger to the local dealer on a rainy day last year. When I walked in there was a young lady behind the parts counter so I walked up to her, pulled off my wet sun glasses and said; "I need a pair of wiper blades for a '06 Street Glide." She said sure and started looking them up. It's a small place and I could hear the guys in the shop laughing....
