  • Gas tank powder coating

I have a gas leak around one of my caps, (The left one) and it is causing the paint to peel away. I am talking with my local custom guy about powder coating the tank. He is concerned about explosions and the like. I should mention that he is not the one doing it, but he has a guy who he sends it off to. Oddly enough, it is cheaper for me to go thru him than to find someone on my own. Anyhow, what is normally the course of action to take to get a tank ready for this? The tank has been kreemed, so

  • Looking for a roll bag

Cannot afford at this time to spend a lot, but I am looking for a roll bag for the bike. Something big enough for a change of clothes, and other items for an overnight/weekend trip. I have a seat similar to 801-818. I have soft saddle bags on the bike. No sissy bar. Looking for a bag that comes with everything to securely attach it to the bike. I was considering ZZ83420 but it would be awfully wide on that narrow seat.

  • Re: dent fender

I will see if I can find the link, but canned air can help do the trick. If you hold the can upside down, it will get very cold. There is a video of someone removing a dent in a car that way.

http://lifehacker.com/software/macgyver/macgyver-tip-fix-a-dent-with-canned-air-and-a-hair-dryer-254575.php Using a hair dryer and canned air. It was a big dent. Not sure if it would work any anything a motorcycle would get. Doubt it, but if you have it handy, can't hurt to try.

  • Super E manual

Anyone know where I can download a manual for my S&S Super E carb? Need to check a few things before riding home, and home is where the manual is.

  • Clutch cable lube

I purchased 5200090 and need to lube it up. Anything I should stay away from with this cable? I was planning on using the sandwich bag method to get the lube into the casing. Also, I seem to have lost a bolt for my S&S cover. Do they sell replacements, or am I stuck with the hardware store? Any reason not to put a dab of thread lock on them?

  • Part identification

Question for the staff, or anyone familiar with the product. I purchased a 601-005, but cannot locate some of the parts in the kit on my bike. Should note that the picture on the website is not the same as what was delivered to me. There were 9 parts total. The primary gasket, the plastic block for setting chain tension, 2 O rings for the plugs, seal for the shifter lever, a small O-ring. Here is a picture of a couple of the parts I am not sure of. http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg73/cragmor

  • Re: Primary gasket kit

I have a question about the parts in 601-005. Are there parts in this kit that are not for use on my 83 XLX? There is a total of 9 pieces, and some are not in the picture. There is the obvious [1]primary gasket, and [2][3] O-rings for the plugs. There is also [4] the seal for the shifter. Parts I could not find a match to would be another seal with metal in it, a metal bracket/spacer, a smaller O-ring. There are a couple of other items which I need to take pictures of. I wondered if a couple of the

  • Re: Primary gasket kit

Honestly, I do not remember if it was long or short. I took them out, placed them in order, and returned them the same way. I was thinking of either longer or shorter to set it to torque down. First thing tho is for me to break out the tap and die set to make sure all the threads are good.
