72 is a HUGE pilot jet. on my Keihin CV (it's on an EVO, but that shouldn't matter THAT much), I have a 45 pilot and a 170 main. You've indicated that it's running rich at idle and low RPM, so try a smaller pilot

I installed a set of Cobra slip-fits on my Wife's V-Star 650, and installed the Cobra Jet-kit, per the instructions. The Jet-Kit only had main jets and needles. The bike seems to be running lean at idle, even after screwing the idle-mix screws out to 3.25. Where can I get the necessary pilot jets?

I'll be looking for a step bigger than stock (whatever that is). I'll pull the carbs off the bike tonight and find out what's in there.

Does it rattle at idle, in neutral? Have you checked to see if your brake pads are loose in your caliper? They're just held in with a bent piece of spring iron, It's easy to knock them loose when you have the front wheel off.

Ladyrider, You haven't offended anybody that matters. Looks like Sleepn' gave you some good info about battery chargers and the workings of HD oil pumps. If you do have a stuck check-ball in your oil pump, it can be repaired without major effort. For answers about your carb (assuming it's the stock Keihin CV), check out this page: http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/hd_cv_mods.htm the plug covers the idle mixture screw (#9 in the drawing). BTW, to help with the orentiation of that drawing
