Like I said no expert here. Just tryin to learn something before I screw up. Was not sure if we were talkin coil-spring or diaphragm from the start, or both. My bad....... Oh yea you asked about the friction plates 7, same for the steel 7. At least thats what I remember. That scares me seein the numbers here. The one I'm installin is the diaphragm type. Not on the bike yet but real close. Again sry to the original poster......

I see this thread is gettin kinda off topic. But I had to ask. Am I screwin up following the instuctions on a BDL primary and a Rivera PRO CLUTCH (PC-1000-A)? The clutch has the primo e-mail/website. Anyway step 5: "First plate installed is the .120" steel plate. It goes all the way to the rear of the clutch hub." These came highly recomended from a friend of mine, of course he sells them. He ran them on a '54. I'm no expert, but some statements here have me confused.........

I too have an '83 XLX. Bought new I think around $3,200. It doesn't have the black pipes or handlebars anymore. Replaced with chrome pull backs and 1" risers, chrome pipes. The bike has been repainted and half the tank is in primer now.(curious kid knocked it over) Also the chain guard, license plate bracket, battery lid and petcock replaced with chrome. And an S&S E replaced the original carb. A little over 20,000 miles. Kept the original solo seat. My friend came buy my house and offered

Yep those dings get expensive. Did it break the brake lever? big cahuna pretty much got it covered though. You may have to pop the switch housing open to get that throttle slide out. Not sure on newer stuff. Maybe an hour or so, pretty simple.

'58 model frame, going to a '73 model swing arm, reason, easier sprocket change and disc brake. While I was spendin money I thought I may as well upgrade a little. Anyway the 5/8"-18 thread on the frame had a heli-coil. Not a big fan of heli-coil. Anyone know if theres a pivot pin, nut combo available, and does that sound doable? I have a self tapper pivot pin available, but since it was bored and tapped for the heli-coil thats a non option, holes already to big. This was available thrue J&P

I've gotta ask. I'm having the same issue not tried a pump. But I can't seem to get it properly "bench bled" either. I've tried just using my thumb over the master cylinder, no luck. I'm going to retry putting the hose in the resevoir next time. Kinda like bench bleeding a new master for a car. Anyway is there a correct procedure for "bench bleeding"? Ray... Cranky, sry to hear that about the hospital. I wish you and your wife the best. Won't some of the cost be covered thrue insurance or Tenn Care? Boswell's will take care of you when the time comes. I've never bought a bike from them but have plenty of friends that they have done right over the years. Anyway good luck man, prayers for ya'll. Ray...
