My HD engine guard on my 2008 Heitage gives me plenty of room for using the toe shifter to shift up and down with my size 12 boots. Im not familiar with how close the engine guard you have installed is in relation to the shifter. If this is typical of the kyuriakin engine guard, I would think that there would have been a lot of complaints to them about this problem and they would re-engineer the shape or how its mounted. I dont typically use the heel portion of my shifter. I might would but I need

One of my riding buddies owned a 2006 Road Glide. He traded it on a 2009 Ultra Classic. He says he cant tell any real difference in the handling related to the fairing differences. He says that the Ultra's fairing blocks a lot more air and he likes that in cooler weather but he also was sort of kicking that advantage when we were on a ride on a hot day. I like my plain king size windshield on my Heritage Classic. It is just right for me in the amount of wind it blocks which is not really a lot

I know what you mean about the wife being scared. my wife will ride ocasionally around town a bit but she too is terrified. I can tell by the way she stays so tensed up when riding. my two daughters ride comfortably and you never can tell they are riding with you. I hope to be able to make a trip to Daytona this comming season. I have a couple of buddies at work who are a lot of fun and trusted riding partners. we all have about the same riding habits and that makes for a fun trip. we have been talking

I ride a 2008 Heritage Classic. I have the dunlops. I can hear a little minor humming of the tires when leaning into a curve in either direction too but only if I happen to be on really smooth asphalt. I cant hear it any other time. We happen to have a few newly and very nicely paved roads in my area and when I was riding on these, it was the first time I noticed it. at first I thought it was a problem with a bearing too but after experimenting and learning how to make it do it on demand, i realized

I always go left foot down, then right foot down. just a long time habit for me. I do sometimes, but rarely, keep my right foot on the floorboard such as in stop and go at a light that turns green just as I have come to a stop. When my sweet wife is riding with me, I always put both feet down at a stop 'cause she is such a wiggler on the seat that I have a hard time sometimes just going straight on a straightaway with her, and when it's time to stop, LOOK OUT!!!!!!!! she's all over the

Marvel Mystery oil has been around for many many years. probably since the 1920 or 1930's. I dont know for sure how long. it just seems as though I've seen oil can collectors with mystery oil cans in collections claiming to be that old. anyway, about the oil, Marvel does claim that adding a few ounces to the gasoline, or the oil, will help the engine just as u describe. there used to be a lot of old timers in my family that have long since passed away that used Mystery oil regularly in their

A performance expert, or super hot rod person can describe the crossover effect on the exhaust far better than I but it's function is to help equalize the pressure of the exhaust pulses and utilize both pipe's expelling effect simultainously to increase scavenging and volume of the exhaust system thus help the motor to breathe better and make more power thru a more complete combustion of fuel at the rpm ranges common to street riding. That being said, in the old days, most of us probably

I installed my mufflers myself and I change my own oils and filters. I keep a log book with reciepts and record exactly what I did, when I did it and the mileage. I have the extended warranty. the only time i've needed anything that fell under the warranty was when I had a squeeking final drive belt a few months ago and there was not even a hint of a problem because of me doing my own service maintainance or installation of accessories.

I have a riding buddy of 10 years or so that just bought his first Harley. It's a 2005 Screaming Eagle CVO Fatboy. 103 CI fuel injected factory built SE engine. It is one sweet ride. It has a Thunder Header and it sounds unbelievably good and is very strong. I dont know any numbers for it. I can just tell u that it looks like a hot rod, sounds like a hot rod, runs like a hot rod, so it must be a hot rod!!!!!!!!

Interesting reading from both of you. I knew that I couldn't possibly be the only person that has ever had a bike to perform well below expectations when the commonly accepted "proper way" to set it up when making exhaust and air flow changes was followed. I can see where the Fuelpak and the Power Commander will allow you to fine tune to your particular needs when things just don't go quite right, as in paying $150 for a stage one download that cause me to have a bad vibe in my
