Dan is this a toe shifter that she is putting her foot ahead and lifting up with her heel (what I have to do on my iron) or a heel toe shifter? if it is a toe shifter, have you looked to see if there is a proper heel-toe shifter that is designed for heel shifting (push down with the heel rather than lift up with the toe)? if it is a heel-toe shifter, maybe support the bike (couple of friends hold it) and watch her go through the motions of shifting - see if there is some adjustment to the shifter

The way she is using it is the way it was designed to be used - heel up & toe down - still thinking you need to watch how she does her shifting and determine why she gets the wiggle - maybe a 1 tooth adjustment will fit her foot better and allow her to heel shift easier.

Rob - I have an E so I don't need a B, but I am supprised no one else has asked the question - How much $ for the B?

Something else you may want to keep in mind is availability of color - no it isn't "cool" to be running florcient orange or bright yellow, but in reduced visibility it might keep you from meeting a cage driver by "accident"

not a problem as for the Zenith - I am sure Xea knows how to adjust it (he has forgotten more than most of us will ever know) - I beliefe FX and Sfrana should know about them as well - and I am sure there are others on the forum with experience with them have a good one

sp If you have to remove the shocks, and haven't done so already, here is your justification to upgrade to progressive (or other premium brand) shocks - just trying to find a half-full glass for you

You would also want to consider what kind of a frame it is in, how the bike is registered, type of suspension, type of wheels, type of tires, . . . . . Seaking of tires, one way to see how hard it has been driven is to check the wear on the back tire - brand new or worn out may indicate trying to use all 107 inches at the same time (burn outs, hard on the throtle starts, etc.)

I take it she went down on the left side. When trying to shift into 1st does the leaver bind up or just doesn't seem to want to go down? If the leaver isn't bent I am thinking one of the shifting forks may have gotten bent. I don't have the page in front of me, but J&P's catelogue shows a breakdown of the tranny that you can look at to see if something else might have gotten damaged. Hope thiis helps

finger - Don't know anything about the Zentih - on my '77 I replaced the Klein with a S&S E. There are some on this forum that should know what you should look for, such as Xea, Fx, Sfrana, etc. As for the oil, it probably wouldn't hurt to get a compression test done on both cylinders - just to get a baseline. Smoking every few days - I may be out to lunch but I am thinking a valve problem - maybe a bit of carbon under the exhaust valve or a valve guide sticking to the exhaust valve

couple of things you can try yourself I would start with checking the battery connections for dirt / corrosion - both + & - at both ends of the cables. If that doesn't help, you might try a back-yard load test - put your volt meter across the battery check voltage, turn the high beam on for a minute or two and note the voltage drop - also try the horn while the headlight is on. If you have a big voltage drop or the voltage drops below 12v have your battery load tested at your local auto parts
