and the answer is ...... per fork. Only I had to find out the hard way. First of all there are no drain plugs. So I had to hand pump the old oil out. But the lower part of the fork does retain oil so make sure you get it all (for anyone else thats doing this).

I'm replacing the fork oil on my yamaha and found the oil spec as 14.7 oz. Is that per fork or total capacity?

A little baking soda on the batt connection, a brush, and everything will work like new. Shady auto shops charge 35 bucks to "fix" a battery connection like that.

Make sure that when you do kick it over, its a dry day. Those magnetos don't like wet or moist conditions. If it is wet and it won't kick, don't go changing parts, just wait for it to dry up. Also I found the right plugs at an auto parts store. AC delco.

The magic answere is 12k ohms

Extra parts just means you made your bike "more efficient"

Yes there is a 68 XLCH, I'm working on a 69 xlch. I think that you really want the Real HD manual. I've heard the Clymers aren't that good. I'm away from my manual or else I'd look up your oil capacity. Also the only way you can not spill oil is if you literally laid the bike on its side, I wouldn't recommend that. You won't lose that much oil taking off the right cover. Edited by trmcc403 on 5/3/2007 7:57:14 AM

Ok, mine reads 12k, but I've got another on order. We'll see what that one reads when I get it.

If anyone has a 1969 or somewhere around there Magneto, Can you read the Ohms between the two spark plug wires. Basically what is the Ohm value through the coil. I'd like to compare it to mine.
