• Re: oil dipstick with temp gauge question
Hey guys, Here we go again, but proven fact. Synthetic oil can bring down operating temp as much as 10 to 15 degrees. The syn. oil dissipates heat quicker...........Before you have to put a cooler on, try synthetic.
I agree 100%

  • Re: Lowering 09 Road king

My 07 Road King Custom is lowered, ground clearance is about a half inch less than standard and seat height depends on the type of seat that's on the bike. I haven't yet scraped the foot boards but I do occasionally scrape the tip of the kick stand when cornering hard to the left. You might bottom out on some speed bumps and your left side muffler might touch curb when you park on the street (rear tire against the curb) depending on curb hight. A lowered bike gives you a lower center of gravity

  • Re: Rhinehart exhaust upgrade

If you change the way your motor breaths (in or out) you'll need a fuel management system. I have a PCIII for my 07 FLHRS.

  • Re: Clutch cable rubbing the tranny dip stick
I just had another thought, if I just put a dip stick without the stick there would be nothing to rubb the clutch cable, then afer the 2700 mile road trip change the ramp arm. What say you???
I was thinking the same thing.

  • Re: 2003 Fatboy Owners

I believe I've experienced the same thing with my 07 FLHRS. It is lowered, stock tires 36psi front and 40 rear, no windshield but it does have the wind deflector headlamp nacelle. The entire bike shifts slightly from side to side when I get it up over 80 mph. I always figured it was, like sfranta said, the aerodymanics of the bike. I like to think it's my bike's way of telling me to back off the throttle a little and besides, I really don't have a good reason to go faster than 80

  • Re: tc-88 oil level question

For late model tourers resting on the kickstand the cold check should be about half and the hot check should be at the full mark but I don't know if it's the same for a dyna. Your owners manual should tell you.

  • Re: No Helmet Law

No helmet law here in Colorado YET. Now you can get pulled over and ticketed just for not wearing a seatbelt so I think it's only a matter of time before helmets are required. I don't know about other states but CO has made it a priority to protect us from ourselves. FYI, I've got a half helmet but I only wear it when it gets below 50 degrees because I'm stupid like that.

  • Re: 77 shovel mobil 1?

Amsoil recommends 60wt as "best" for a shovel with the 20w50 as a secondary choice if that helps any.

  • Re: bel ray tranny fluid
Give Spectra a try, works great in '07 Low Rider and '09 RK, really quiets the tranny, sm-o-o-o-o-o-th shifting (go to http://www.spectro-oils.com/products/cruiser/vtwin/index.asp?products=cruiser , take a look. I tried it on the advice of a lot of friends who won't use anything else.
Baker recommends Spectro 75w-140 for their trannys.
